Overview of job 

We are on the hunt for a Social Media Executive to manage the planning, implementation, optimisation, and reporting for clients’ Paid Social Media campaigns (Awareness & Performance campaigns) and based in our Sydney office, you'll have an extensive understanding of social or digital media and experience utilising data, creative, tracking and insights to plan and execute social media campaigns with a laser focus on hitting KPIs, analysing performance and reporting results.

This role reports to the Content Director.

Responsibilities of the role:

1)In three months:

Technical:

  • Analyse, interpret and optimise campaigns to achieve client KPl's and objectives
  • Deep understanding of social marketing landscape to help develop social strategies
  • Strong knowledge of campaign needs and the implementation process
  • Keep abreast of local and global campaigns and trends
  • Able to create meaningful reports for clients

Client Service:

  • Responsible for supporting responses to all client needs from a Social perspective
  • Manage paid social campaigns day-to-day. Ensure they are performing well. Communicate and action effective ongoing optimisation recommendations
  • Track campaigns while they are live to identify potential trouble areas and optimisation opportunities
  • Responsible for creating social media plans and keeping them up to date

People management:

  • Help with prioritisation the workload of the Social team and be involved with training and development of the Paid Social Coordinator
  • Supports the wider team when need it

Agency:

  • Works effectively as a team player within Ikon and supports others in their roles

2)In six months:

Technical

  • Effectively utilise insight and planning tools to analyse social behaviour. Use insights in the development of all plans, reporting & optimisation. Consult with the client’s social team on upcoming content & goals
  • Contribute in the strategy phase of campaign planning, using previous campaign learnings where possible
  • Work closely with publisher reps to keep abreast of new technologies and innovation

Client Services:

  • Ensuring clients remain up to speed with the changing Social landscape and opportunities that the channels presents
  • Work closely with client service teams to identify potential social media integration with offline and other online channels and understand the goals for each channel and the campaign as a whole
  • Consult with Manager and Strategist to ensure social concepts are aligned with overall campaign

People Management:

  • Works with Manager and Director to keep the team motivated and positive
  • Provides on the job coaching and mentoring for coordinators

Agency:

  • Participates in culture-based initiatives and encourages team members to participate

3)In twelve months:

Technical:

  • Work closely with the wider performance team to develop performance strategies and own the management of their implementation
  • Manage Social strategies alongside client teams to ensure they are integrated, brilliant and deliver upon client objectives
  • Share insights within the team and wider agency to drive the social product
  • Keep abreast of the changing landscape and have the confidence to put new ideas in front of clients with absolute conviction
  • Utilise the wider Ikon and WPP network of Paid Social professionals to deliver market leading social products

Client Service:

  • Constantly working to exceed all client needs from a Social perspective
  • Develop excellent client relationships to ensure clients are comfortable with all recommendations
  • Provide excellent reporting insights for clients into performance drivers

People Management:

  • Management, mentoring and leadership of team ensuring results are delivered
  • Ensures the team hit and exceed client targets and expectations
  • Proactively manage relationship & performance issues. Involve senior managers & P&C where appropriate ensuring clear communication and clarity around issues

Agency:

  • Ensures attention to detail for all tasks and accepts accountability for any errors that occur in work in internal documents prepared for clients
  • Drives consideration and assists with the education of social within the agency
  • Is actively involved with learning & development, facilitating training where appropriate

What you will need:

1)Essential:

  • Experience with Facebook Power Editor
  • Strong understanding of social media and their differences in user behaviour
  • Interest to proactively learn about new paid social media developments
  • Strong Social Media implementation and optimisation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple paid social campaigns effectively within the agree time and budget

2)Ideal:

  • GTM, Sizmek conversion tagging and GA understanding
  • Programmatic and other digital media understanding & how they can work together with Social for Performance campaign
