We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Associate, Actuarial Services – HSBC Life.

Principal Responsibilities

  • The jobholder is responsible for providing assistance to the valuation, stress testing and other reporting requirements in the Actuarial Services Department to support business needs
  • The jobholder supports the Appointed Actuary in his role under the Insurance Act to safeguard the financial health of the insurance company and protect the interest of policyholders as well as in respect of his statutory responsibilities under the Insurance Act and meeting internal reporting requirements
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of valuation team
  • Assist in maintaining Prophet models for valuation purpose
  • The jobholder works closely with the regional office, external actuarial consultants, auditors and regulators, ensuring adherence to the HSBC guidelines in the IFIM and statutory regulations


  • At least 2 years of actuarial work related experience
  • Good progress in actuarial exams of an international recognized actuarial body
  • Some knowledge on computer programming language is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Good technical, analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and positive attitude
