The Fundamental Research Group is a global team of research professionals who deliver impactful research and generate insights to support Capital Group’s Investment Analysts, Portfolio Managers and related research. Our team of Research Associates work across our global investment offices and provide broad market coverage, while our team of China Industry Specialists, based in Shanghai, enrich our understanding of Chinese companies and provide deep local expertise.

Capital Group is seeking to hire a dynamic business leader to bring their energy and expertise to our world-class research organization. As the Fundamental Research Group Senior Manager, you will build strong relationships with team members and local stakeholders to proactively anticipate needs and the skills required to deliver exceptional research. You will collaborate with peer managers in the U.S. and Europe, as well as the Fundamental Research Group leader, Advisory Group, and China Group, to support evolving business needs. You will set the tone, engage associates, and drive the business with a primary focus on the regional team in Asia. You will play an important role in inspiring and developing associates and supporting Capital Group’s long-term strategy.

  • You have a strategic mindset, able to define, communicate, and execute the Fundamental Research Group objectives and strategic priorities.
  • You have a deep understanding of the investment and research process, and are able to manage the regional and global research workflow, with a focus on delivering best-in-class research, operating efficiently, and maintaining close partnerships with the investment group.
  • You are a hands-on leader, able to assess, develop and provide day-to-day oversight to the regional research team; Provide clear and thoughtful objective-setting and foster an inclusive and engaging environment focused on collaboration and innovation.
  • You are an advocate for innovation and efficiency, ensuring that the research team has the tools, resources, access, and guidance to be successful.
  • You are partnership-oriented, able to maintain strong working relationships with the investment group and key stakeholders in Asia and Europe.
  • You are curious and a skilled researcher, brining expertise on conducting research in local markets (including the complexities of operating in China), research quality, as well as on the Capital Group system and operating model.
  • You are a natural facilitator, able to coordinate rich and engaging communication for the regional and global team, including Town Halls, CG updates, etc.

  • You bring a deep analytical mindset, with knowledge of local policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the team, Capital Group, and the asset management industry overall.
  • You have a successful track record working in a global, matrixed environment.
  • You have completed my undergraduate degree (Advanced degree preferred).
  • You possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
