Department Description



The Human Resources team in the Asia Pacific region consists of professionals comprising HR Business Partners, Talent, Reward and HR Shared Services teams. FIL's Business and Investment Management departments have employees located in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore. This role is based in Hong Kong office.



Reward is the Center of Expertise which is responsible for design and framework of the firm's reward strategy as well as governance of reward practices for ensuring compliant with the relevant regulatory recommendations and requirements.



Purpose of the Role



This role will be responsible for the management of reward programs in Asia Pacific with a primary focus on China. The role covers compensation benchmarking, local compensation and benefits program management and administration.



Key Responsibilities




  • Manage design and administration of reward programs with a primary focus on China. Support other Asia Pacific locations as needed.

  • Support compensation benchmaking and assist HR team in the preparation of compensation proposals for new hires, promotions and role changes. Support ongoing management of local compensation programs in China (e.g. local allowances and compensation deferral scheme).

  • Work with other Reward team members and various stakeholders to manage a periodical reward program review and renewal (e.g. group insurance plans, pension, medical and wellness benefits and other benefits).

  • Administer external vendor payment and security review process and take ownership of external vendor management for the assigned locations. Work with relevant internal teams and external vendors to ensure processes around benefit administration are thorough and programs are delivered to the required standard and in a timely manner. Support initiatives to improve existing processes/practices and assist with managing changes.

  • Develop and coordinate communications activities to educate and inform employees about reward programs. Manage contents on benefit programs on the intranet.

  • Serve as the resource for HR team and line managers on reward related queries.

  • Work on reward releated projects (e.g. flexible benefits)



Experience and Qualifications Required




  • Degree in HRM or related disciplines

  • At least 7 years' experience of reward program management and design experience at a professional level - experience in benefits design and flexible benefits program (preferably China) is necessary

  • Ability to operate independently with little supervision

  • Ability to work across geographical and functional boundaries, strong influencing skills and ability to work across levels within the organization

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a flair for numbers - ability to manipulate data and work with complex assumptions

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills in fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin) are essential.
