Job Description

Manage a distribution/logistical operation, and synchronize the operations of all distribution, material, supply and movement management for ongoing logistical or sustainment operations within a Distribution Integration Branch, in close coordination with the distribution integration plans branch. The DIB is managed by a LTC. The Log Ops contractor assists in the DIB maintaining situational awareness, internal support operations coordination, and coordination exchange and coordination with external organizations and agencies.
Maintain combat service support situational awareness through all means of information systems, battle command automation system, and CSS C2 information systems.

Assist in the development, establishment, implementation, and monitoring of local and theater policies and procedures concerning distribution operations. The Log Ops contractor does not establish theater priorities, but facilitates establishment.

Maintain continuous liaison with other staff directorates, contractors, and commands within the AOR.

Maintain uninterrupted operations of material flow and other goods to support the commander’s intent, before, during and after any type of military operations within the theaters area of responsibilities. Maintain situational awareness and reports.

Contractor does not make decisions or direct actions that directly influence operations.

Prepare distribution integration operational products, briefings and reports. These are locally generated reports and briefings associated with logistical or sustainment functions related to ongoing operations. Manage the production and consolidation of logistics operations and information products for internal use by support operations, 1st TSC or to provide to external organizations/agencies.

Coordinate project, task review and coordination meetings to include arranging for facilities and equipment, developing agendas, preparing attendance lists, preparing presentations, making presentations, and publishing meeting results. Projects described here are limited to informational projects, such as putting together task lists, phone recall rosters for personnel, or assisting DIB personnel with gathering and consolidating information at the request of leadership.
Distribute and synchronize information collection and preparation across the DMC.

Receives, interprets, and makes disposition (internal to 1st TSC) of Commander’s Critical Information Requirement (CCIR) reports and Serious Incident Reports (SIR). Prepares
and forwards approved CCIR and SIR reports external to 1st TSC as directed by the DIB Chief.

Accomplishes tasks and develops products supporting the mission of the DIB and support operations section as directed by the DIB Chief, the Support Operations Officer, Deputy Support Operations Officer, and the Distribution Management Center Chief.
Gathers and compiles information and data as required from the support operations section, information systems, battle command automation system, CSS C2 information systems and external organizations and agencies as required to complete required tasks and products. These systems utilize satellite tracking capabilities for monitoring equipment and convoy movement along their routes for situational awareness.

Logistics operations should be performed IAW, but not limited to the following regulatory/doctrinal standards: FM 3-0 (Operations, February 2008), 4-0 (Combat Service Support), FM 4-93.4 (Theater Support Command),FM 5-0 (Army Planning and Orders Production), FM 6-0 (Mission Command: Command and Control of Army Forces), Modular Force Logistics Concept (MLFC) version 6, & current ARCENT and TSC orders.

Provide the Distribution Integration Branch with 24 hour coverage per day in support of SPO/DMC Battle Captain operations (3 people working six days per week, 10 hours per day; Sunday off; 24 hour coverage is for the six days).

Screen all incoming message traffic, copying messages of interest, and providing a copy to the SPO.

Assist the Support Operations Officer; managing the C2 of the Logistics Operations and Plans Branch within the Distribution Integration Branch (DIB); preparing distribution integration operational products and reoccurring reports; distributing and synchronizing information collection and preparation across the DMC.

Coordinate and synchronize the DMC/DIB; maintaining awareness of the distribution systems and acting as the “fusion center” of information within the Distribution Integration Branch, in close cooperation with the distribution integration plans branch.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Management, Political Science, Logistics Management or Computer Science or related field.

5-8 years of related experience in logistics, traffic and/or supply chain management.
Experience handling classified and unclassified information.
Experience with DOD supply management and/or distribution management and systems; knowledge of Army STAMIS, battle command automation system, C2 information systems and other automation systems. General experience in Army Battle Command System (ABCS) or Command Post of the Future.
Experience with computer software/office applications and logistics operations.

This position will deploy with U.S. Forces, and therefore is subject to Deployed Contractor training and regulations, and USCENTCOM Individual Protection and individual / Unit Deployment Policy. Successful candidates will be subject to initial and recurring physical examinations and medical testing, and meet fitness for duty requirements in accordance with the CENTCOM Policy and related modifications and regulations

This position requires assignment or deployment to international location(s).

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a work and/or residence visa in the country of performance including ability to obtain medical certificate and/or police report clearance in accordance with host country regulations.
