Summary of Program:
USAID Takamol Gender Program is a five-year program focusing on mainstreaming gender at the policy, national, and community levels. The objectives of the Program are to expand social dialogue on gender equality and strengthen enforcement and advocacy for female empowerment. USAID Takamol delivers support mechanisms, in-kind assistance, training, and/or grants to build the capacity of national and grassroots organizations including civil society actors, media, and government ministries, as well as supports USAID Implementing Partners to achieve gender equity and female empowerment. The Program is funded by USAID and implemented by IREX, an international nonprofit organization that builds a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world.
Summary of Position:
The Program Coordinator plays a key role in internal and external USAID Takamol communications, supporting the project’s internal updates, donor reporting, and public communications. The Coordinator works across the Takamol team to document the progress of activities and explain their impact. The position combines a broad understanding of M&E; with communications skills in order to produce products that capture the achievements and underlying theory of change behind Takamol initiatives.
Description of Responsibilities:
* Coordinate with both headquarters and field-based staff to produce internal weekly and monthly updates;
* Support team in identifying success stories and ways to communicate the impact of Takamol activities;
* Collect data for reporting and communications products through interviewing participants and stakeholders, observing activities, conducting desk research, and reviewing program files;
* Support the development of Takamol publicity materials, including newsletters, web page, and social media;
* Assist in the development and finalization of program materials such as legacy tools, policy papers, and case studies;
* Maintain adherence to branding and making guidelines within communications and public materials;
* Conduct research to support Takamol initiatives;
* Contribute to the planning, coordination, and documentation of Policy & Advocacy initiatives.
* Provide informational resources to team members as needed to support programmatic activities;
* Procure and manage the work of consultants as needed, such as photographers, designers, translators, and editors;
* Other administrative and programmatic duties, as needed.
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field such as international development, women’s studies, or communications;
* Detail-oriented with ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain flexible while adhering to strict deadlines in a fast-paced working environment;
* Proven organizational skills and attention to detail;
* Ability to work independently and as a team member, take initiative, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility;
* Demonstrated ability to plan strategically and creatively to meet specified objectives with strong ability to anticipate challenges and generate solutions;
* Excellent writing and editing skills in both Arabic and English;
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, social media, and publishing/design tools;
* Preferred experience working with civil society and government stakeholders in Jordan.
* Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to legally work in Jordan.
