Overview of Division/Department

Our Global Transaction Banking Department (GTBD) is responsible for promoting global transaction business by providing cash & trade solutions to customers in Asia Pacific and Oceania region including Japan. The division undertakes promotion activities such as business planning, marketing, sales, development and training in the region mainly to Japanese & non-Japanese customers, branch staff, government agencies, banks and IT vendors.

Job Responsibilities
Be part of the Trade Asset Solution (TAS) team to actively promote the Bank's trade business particularly Bank-based and LC-related deals. This is a major focus of Mizuho currently to drive profits and strengthen client relationships.

Duties include:
(i) Active liaison with colleagues in Front Office colleagues to identify trade related opportunities to support the Bank's corporate clients trade flows
(ii) Active coordination with other Financial Institutions, Banks (“Investors”) and International Agencies (ADB; IFC) in secondary market to source solutions to support corporate clients' business via Risk Part Out (RPO).
- This is a key function of the Team as it supports clients Trade Finance and Risk Management requirements as well as enhances relationships with our corporate clients.
- Tasks include reaching out to various Investors; negotiating terms and conditions including pricing and executing transactional documentation (Offer; Acceptance)
- Reviewing and negotiating documentation related to the requirements of the business e.g. MRPA
(iii) Support establishment of RMAs with Banks to facilitate trade business.

Project-related initiatives to drive Bank and LC-Trade-related business and increase profits for the Bank e.g.:
(i) Trade Credit Insurance
(ii) Global Trade Liquidity Program (GTLP)
(iii) Risk Participation In (RPI)
(iv) Expand Client Product via relevant Trade and FI Product Development
(v) Compile transactional statistics and activity reports on weekly basis and monthly basis


Job Requirements
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of working experience in FI-related Trade business.
  • This experience should be in Front office side of the business
  • The background should be from banking
  • Has knowledge of Trade especially LC and FI business
  • Has knowledge of Conventional Trade products such as LC's, Guarantees, Standby LC, Credit Risk Insurance etc
  • Having relevant trade certifications would be beneficial but not mandatory
