We are seeking applications from experienced Procurement and Logistics personnel to join our team in Adelaide. Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Special Projects Services, the successful candidate will manage all procurement and inventory management activities related to the Adelaide DMU and Adelaide EMU Maintenance & Services Contracts between Bombardier and the Operator. These activities encompass the maintenance, repair and overhaul of Rolling Stock, Depot Equipment/Assets and Simulators.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

· The purpose of this role is to lead the local (depot based) procurement and logistics team whilst actively linking in with other Bombardier Service sites to ensure standardization of processes, synergies and compliance with all procedures, policies and customer/legislative requirements

· Ensure that all internal & external procurement activities (strategic and routine) are appropriately managed.

· Actively lead legal/commercial negotiations with key suppliers

· Account for and manage any warranty and non conformance cost claims on purchased items/services as required.

· To actively identify, manage and deliver cost optimisation initiatives under the Procurement & Logistics scope.

· Develop, maintain and actively deliver inventory optimisation initiatives to reduce waste, cost and improve cash flow.

· Procurement of associated materials and services in accordance with BT procurement processes and guidelines.

· To proactively identify risks and opportunities in respect of the Procurement & Logistics operation.

· Lead stocktake and cycle counting activities, account for any discrepancies and drive improvement initiatives.

· Implement and monitor KPI’s in respect of the Procurement & Logistics operation and drive continual improvement.

· To run self-audits on the Procurement & Logistics operation to identify areas for improvement.


It is expected you will have the following qualifications, experience and personal characteristics:

· Engineering, legal and/or Procurement/Logistics, qualifications (tertiary level) would be highly regarded.

· Strong Communication and negotiation skills.

· At least 5 years’ experience in Management or Lead roles in Procurement & Logistics in a service /maintenance environment.

· Commercial/contracts experience

· Quality Processes Experience Desirable.

· Previous experience and understanding of the rail industry and rail vehicles is desirable but not essential

· Working knowledge of Maximo MMS or MRP/SAP systems, or similar is essential.

· Intermediate to advanced level in MS Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Access)
