Position Summary:

The NBA is seeking an individual with a point of view, passion and precision to join its Asia Pacific digital and direct-to-consumer team, part of the NBA's industry leading Global Content and Media Distribution division. This role will focus on growing NBA's current premium SVOD service (NBA International League Pass) and future direct-to-consumer products. The ideal candidate will bring a commitment to helping figure out how to develop the best direct to consumer and OTT experience for the NBA's fans and partner platforms. The Digital Manager will be heavily involved in partner management, product, pricing, packaging and distribution. This individual will be based in Hong Kong reporting to the Senior Director of Digital and will work closely with Hong Kong and US based Direct to Consumer, Digital Media Product, Marketing, Content and Global Media Distribution teams.

Major Responsibility:

  • Oversee and coordinate all required aspects of NBA International League Pass in Asia Pacific with internal stakeholders as well as external partners ensuring all execution is delivered best in class
  • Identify, analyze and develop quarterly OTT strategy and tactical plans on growth opportunities for League Pass in the Pan-Asia region
  • Track and report all updates including product, technology, marketing and finance on weekly basis
  • Establish and manage monthly activation plans with both global and local marketing team to execute towards target subscriber, engagement, consumption and revenue goals
  • Maintain close coordination and alignment with media distribution, content, marketing and product teams to balance the NBA's licensing and direct-to-consumer activities
  • Challenge, educate and develop the team to self-disrupt and think and act differently

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of OTT / direct-to-consumer / e-commerce industries
  • Proven account management experience with strong attention to detail and accuracy utilizing online/offline data analytics In-depth knowledge of digital media rights
  • Strong negotiation skills coupled with a strategic vision
  • Team player with the ability to build strong relationships with partners and internal teams
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations with poise, confidence and leadership
  • Comfortable in communication with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong passion for and knowledge of technology, social media and digital marketing
  • An understanding of the NBA and love of sports will be an advantage
  • 3+ years of experience in the Sport, Media, and/or OTT / direct-to-consumer industry
  • Avid consumer of existing OTT products (i.e. Netflix, Amazon, DAZN, Viu, etc)
  • Strong existing contacts in the digital industry, a plus if with Mobile companies
  • Commercial agreements experience and a deep understanding of contracts, particularly licensing arrangements
  • Willingness to travel extensively around Asia Pacific Training in a web analytical tool (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc) is a plus
  • Multiple Language skills is a bonus - English fluency is a must

Education:

  • University degree with a major (or focus) in Strategy, Digital Media, Technology or related subjects
