As the CNIC N6 IT Help Desk Support Specialist, you will provide Information Technology (IT) service support for the Commander, Navy Regions Command supporting the EURAFCENT Region at the Naval Support Activity for Manama, Bahrain.

In this role, you will:

  • Address, manage and resolve network and or domain user trouble calls or tickets.
  • Provide support in the implementation, installation, maintenance and upgrades of user SIPRNet, Non-classified Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network (NIPRNet) and telephone drops, and ensure that the work is done in accordance with best practices and standards.
  • Assist in the application/acquisition, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrade of domain connected user computing platforms, to include sub-components, peripherals and software/applications, as well as non-domain connected systems. Assist in the application, acquisition, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrade of printers, scanners, fax machines, data encryptors, etc., and ensure that the work is done in accordance with best practices and standards.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance and upgrade of cable infrastructure, such as fiber optic cables, copper Ethernet cables, and the required cable infrastructure pathways.
  • Perform site surveys and determine user domain requirements, and develop the needed site survey report.
  • Develop and provide cost estimates of user requirements and provide to the appropriate approving authority and procurement officer.
  • Project support related to user-submitted trouble tickets, to include project planning, coordinating with stakeholders, requirements gathering, project monitoring, and project status reporting to ensure compatibility and suitability with current or anticipated CNREURAFCENT N6 IT requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation, installation, setup, maintenance and upgrades of telephone drops and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) endpoints. Provide VTC support to users, to include VTC endpoint meeting setup and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the implementation, installation, setup, maintenance and upgrades of telephones, to include Voice over Secure IP (VoSIP). Assist in the application or acquisition of Command telephones, cellphones, tablets, their subcomponents and peripherals. Assist in the activation or reactivation of telecom services. Track assignments or allocations of telecom assets, services, accounts, asset subcomponents and peripherals. Develop, implement and maintain a database used to track telecom asset assignments.
  • Dispose of items identified to be no longer needed through the Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO) process. Sanitize any items for proper disposal to DRMO.
  • Submit Request for Changes (RFCs), track and manage submitted RFCs that are required to satisfy domain user requirements or telecom users.
  • Train users or other required, concerned individual of the system that they are supporting or system that they are providing when required.
  • Support the ITSM Service Strategy phase to include strategy management, service portfolio management, demand and business relationship management as applicable

To be successful in this role, you must have the following:

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of 8 years implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance experience with IT systems required
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be 8570 compliant and Hold an active Security Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CAP, CASP, CCSK, CISSP, CISM, OR CISA.
  • Must hold a valid US Passport
