Your new role at Genmab
For the Functional Characterization & Bioassays (FCB) team we are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Scientist. The group develops binding and potency assays used internally and by external parties, such as Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), to demonstrate the quality and characteristics of our antibody products.
As Scientist FCB, you will be working in a team of scientists and research associates dedicated to developing and validating state-of-the-art bioassays. Specifically, you will design and develop bioassays for projects in the preclinical and clinical development stage, and perform product characterization to support regulatory filing. With your up to date knowledge and experience you represent the CMC bioassay expertise within our organization.
We are currently in a growing phase with a ‘knock your socks off’ pipeline of new antibody products. That is where you come in and help us realize our growth ambitions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Translating the mechanism of action of our products into a meaningful bioassay strategy for release and stability of clinical batches.
Manage and work closely with a team of Research Associates (2-3) to develop and qualify immunological and cell-based assays.
Act as an author in necessary documentation and coordinate method implementation at external parties (CROs/CMOs).
Collaborating with CROs/CMOs as necessary and provide expert input to validation strategy, questions, sample analysis, and method life cycle management.
Checking of compliance with GxP and FDA regulations.
Defining the functional characterization approach and coordinating the execution of structure-function studies.
Keeping the team up to date with the latest developments in the field, such as novel technologies and regulatory requirements.
What we ask
A development focused position lies in store for you. You are someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced biotechnology environment. With your experience in bioassay development and validation, you follow new scientific and regulatory developments closely and take an active role in your field of expertise. You are highly motivated to achieve the goals that are important to Genmab’s therapeutic antibody projects. Specifically, we ask the following of you:
A completed academic education or equivalent and two to five years of experience in leading assay development and validation in a (biotechnology) company
Proven experience with the development and troubleshooting of immunological and cell-based assays (e.g. ELISA, luminescence assays). Experience with SPR and/or automation would be advantageous.
Ability to run several projects parallel to each other and adjust priorities appropriately with the team.
Motivated by delivering high quality output. Work experience with regulatory guidelines for product related assays is required.
Excellent relational and communication skills in English.
Previous experience of managing external collaborations is beneficial.
