Job description


  • Certify that the valuation of actuarial and other policy liabilities is in accordance with generally accepted actuarial principles and practices and valuation methods and assumptions which are consistent with the applicable requirements as set out by the regulator

  • Prepare the Financial Condition Report (FCR)

  • Provide recommendations to the Board on the appropriateness of surplus distribution to shareholders

  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the current database of business used to perform the specific duties

  • Timely submission of relevant statutory reports to Bank Negara Malaysia


  • Degree in Actuarial Science

  • A Fellow Member of any of the following:

            - the Actuarial Society of Malaysia

            - the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries of the United Kingdom

            - the Institute of Actuaries of Australia

            - the Canadian Institute of Actuaries

            - the Society of Actuaries of the United States of America

            - the Casualty Actuarial Society of the United States of America

  • At least 3 years of relevant post qualification practical experience as a Fellow of any of the professional bodies above

  • Experience in Reserving and Capital modelling, ResQ and Remetrica will be an added advantage

  • Analytical, research and creative problem solving skills

  • Good written, communication and presentation skills
