MULTIFUNCTIONAL Field Service Representative
In support of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronic Command (CECOM) Logistics and Readiness Center (LRC) Field Support Directorate (FSD) Field Sustainment Support Division (FSSD) the BETSS-C Trainer/Installer will operate or otherwise be knowledgeable on the use of Base Expeditionary Targeting and Surveillance Systems (BETSS-C) in order to provide operational subject matter expertise in support of training and system installation. These systems provide the war fighter various force protection sensor assets, offering the ability to continuously monitor activities throughout the local operational area by augmenting the Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems.
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for the installation and training on a wide range of tactical and permanent systems supporting ground based security sensors and systems (e.g., Access control, CCTV, Infrared sensors, Fiber optic cable and fiber optic lines of detection, ground based radars, thermal imaging systems, RF links and communications, including microwave and the Tactical Automated Security System (TASS) suite of sensors). • Ability to configure, manage and troubleshoot any wired and wireless networks.
• Perform network hardware, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Install/Train on how to upgrade, disassemble and reconfigure systems.
• Execute hardware/software changes in support of the sensor systems.
• Ability to provide Over-the-Shoulder, Train the Trainer, Train the Warfighter, and OJT training to end-users and newly assigned operators as required.
• Use fault isolation guides to troubleshoot and determine precise problems to facilitate and expedite repairs.
• Maintain a log of all repairs completed on systems under your responsibility.
• Designs, implements and maintains electronic equipment, components and circuits for new and existing products. Assists in determining design approach and parameters to move product/system to manufacture or implementation.
• Examines and evaluates electronic components and circuits.
• Perform daily operation status checks of all assigned systems and perform preventative maintenance checks.
Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS and 1-3 years of experience
• Associates degree and 4 years of experience
• High school and 6 years of experience
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience with a foundation in US Army Signals Communication Field (25 series MOS)
• 2-5 years of experience in electronic design, IT, network operations, signal support systems and communications
Desires skills and qualifications:
• Network+ and Security + background, BETSS-C or PTDS, experience
o Establishing IP Addresses and setup and operating interconnected systems both MIL-SPEC and COTS
o Experience in troubleshooting fiber optic, network cabling, twisted pair, RF, and network equipment
o Experienced with basic hand tools, electronic measuring equipment, and ability to concisely convey malfunctions and corrective actions verbally and input into a data base.
o Ability to work long hours, work in deployed locations, and travel as required or assigned. Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
• Experience working with electrical theories, design principles and practices and design evaluation techniques
• Experience working with the company's electronic design procedures
• Experience working with personal computers and related software applications and network
• Experience working with BETSS-C equipment and Persistent Surveillance and Dissemination System (PSDS) systems, Blackwolf, Osprey and Gator Tower systems
• Experience training, installation and operation of networking and maintenance of signal equipment
• Experience working with personal computers and related software applications
• Experience working with test/measurement equipment
• Good analytical and problem solving skills with respect to networks and computer hardware
• Ability to listen and comprehend the needs of the customer with relation to the project
Clearance: SECRET
Deployment: Through CONUS Replacement Center to Kuwait Theater of Operation
Training Requirements: Successful completion of a 13 week BETSS-C T/I course at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO
Certifications: CompTIA Network+ certification not required but preferred
Duty Location: Kuwait
