MediaCom, a WPP company, is seeking a Director within our high performing Business Science Asia Pacific unit. Business Science is MediaCom’s advanced analytics team which helps analyse and optimise our clients’ marketing strategies. MediaCom Business Science is a global team with centres of excellence in Western & Central Europe, North & South America and Asia Pacific. The role would be based out of our Asia Pacific centre in Singapore and cover multiple markets across the region.


Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Head of Business Science APAC.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • You will be up to speed with MediaCom Business Science’s services, tools and client business
  • Understand our value proposition and able to articulate this confidently
  • Have begun to build a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders both internally and externally

In six months:

  • Have established solid trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Delivered at least one substantial advanced analytics project(s) to key clients
  • Have begun to contribute to new business development initiatives
  • Have shown initiative in improving existing products, processes or services

In 12 months:

  • Delivered several substantial advanced analytics project(s) to key clients with several running concurrently
  • Have contributed significantly to new business development initiatives
  • Shown a consistent commitment to improving products, processes and services
  • Have significantly contributed to the development of new products or services


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Ensure best-in-class analytical output from you and your team
  • Build effective working relationships with the MediaCom APAC team (both Business Science and other functions)
  • Understand our clients business thoroughly and build trusted advisor relationships with senior client management.
  • Partner with the relevant client and internal teams so as to ensure analytical recommendations are aligned and actioned for real world business impact


What you will need:

  • You should be a highly motivated self-starter with a proven track record of project delivery, team leadership, and business growth.
  • Good people and leadership skills are vital; a critical component of the job is to motivate, manage and grow talent within a diverse team.
  • You should have at least 7-8 years of experience in marketing analytics
  • In-depth hand’s on knowledge of econometrics and other analytical methodologies is a must
  • It would be a distinct advantage to have hands-on experience in the analysis of a broad variety of digital data (search, social, industry and campaign data sources for example) in order to generate consumer and brand insights.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or ideally master’s degree, from a leading University in a technical area: Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics
  • You should be culturally flexible and enjoy working with teams from across different countries, and comfortable traveling if required.
  • Strong client communication & presentation skills are a must.
