In this newly created position as Senior HR Business Partner you will be responsible for developing and driving innovative initiatives and solutions through the areas of – attraction, development, engagement, and transformation - that will complement and mirror the current and future strategic business objectives of Wavemaker and deliver both personal and organisational improvements in performance. This is a national position covering our Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane offices.

In three months:
• Demonstrating good problem solving skills even when under considerable pressure
• Understanding of Wavemaker’s global positioning, strategy on a page and values
• Thoroughly understanding the various Wavemaker talent and HR initiatives and policies around induction, development, performance management, mobility and our people philosophy including the expectations and implications for Australia

• Develop and cascade the Wavemaker Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and ensure we are positioned competitively in the recruiting space.
• Work with the Wavemaker Leadership Team to understand what the future talent needs will be and ensure we have the competitive intelligence internally and externally to meet the changing needs of the business.
• Ensure our employee onboarding to Wavemaker is best in class and enhance employee performance and retention.
• Lead our performance review and KPI setting process across the agency, through “Reflektive” ensuring managers are having regular conversations with their employees about their performance, their development and how they will be measured, bridging any capacity and capability gaps across the agency.
• Work in partnership with GroupM HR & Talent to develop retention/engagement strategies which are relevant to our agency and unique people challenges.
• Execute the employee engagement survey, identify what inspires and motivates our talent and ensure the leadership team is held accountable for improving the results year on year. Ensure all offices have a bespoke action plans for improvement
• Work in partnership with the Commercial Director and MD’s on salary cycles, promotions, and contracts. Be invested in our people and have a solid point of view on who is excelling at their positions and their needs

• Exposure to / experience in people development, talent acquisition, strategic change management and organisational design and development in a fast moving, creative and dynamic environment;
• Degree level qualifications and/or continuing professional development to demonstrate competence;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Strong people and team skills with the ability to manage self and influence others in a constructive manner and to build long term relationships, always with a talent mindset;
• Excellent time management skills to effectively prioritise simultaneous demands from a variety of different sources and adapt and respond appropriately;
• Concern for quality and pride in all work produced; consistently careful and methodical with a strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy and consistent delivery whilst retaining an awareness of the bigger picture;
• Strong creative problem solving and lateral thinking skills; ability to join up the dots in ways that others might not and to spot the critical insight in a world of ‘information’;
