The primary function of the Production Systems Administrator is to maintain and troubleshoot systems as required, with the aim of providing a stable and fully functioning production environment, either on-site or remotely.

The Production Systems Administrator is also responsible for working alongside the Production Support Engineers in the implementation of new production system environments. This could range from setting up an on-site workstation to the setup of the technology in a new WPP joint venture facility within APAC.

+ Install/rebuild new/existing servers.
+ Develop and maintain installation, configuration and DR procedures.
+ Hardware and software performance management.
+ Ensure security standards and best practices are adhered to for all systems.
+ Perform backup operations on a regular basis.
+ Perform regular maintenance on all in scope systems.
+ Repair and recover hardware and software failures.
+ Apply OS updates, patches and configuration changes on in scope systems.
+ Configure/add new services as required.
+ Analyze system logs and identify any potential issues with systems.
+ Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
+ Responsibility for documentation on the configuration, maintenance and operation of systems.
+ Assist helpdesk in troubleshooting and resolving any reported problems.
+ Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required.
+ Maintain data centre and testing lab environments.
+ Ensure availability of all network and infrastructure systems 24x7 and that all service levels are met or exceeded both internally to the business and externally to clients.
+ Perform routine audits of systems and software.
+ Ensure all systems are integrated into the global management, monitoring, and performance testing system.
+ Training and mentoring other production systems staff.
+ Liase with suppliers to remain abreast of latest product developments.
+ Plan for future expansion requirements and provide appropriate input into the budgeting process.
Essential Experience & Skills Required:
+ Relevant experience (3 years minimum)
+ Expert knowledge of GNU/Linux, Mac and Windows Server OS technologies and administration.
+ Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware), and best practices for their connectivity and management.
+ Implementing and administering LAN/WAN and security related infrastructure.
+ Ability to communicate clearly with senior (technical and non-technical) managers.
+ Ability to interpret/discuss requirements with colleagues to develop and support new systems requirements.
+ Knowledge and familiarity of relevant scripting languages (eg. Python, Bash).
+ Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously to demanding delivery timescales.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills & general "can-do" service attitude.
+ Excellent time management skills & multi-tasking abilities.
+ Experience using internal wikis for documentation purposes.
+ Able to adapt to new working methods & practice technology advances.
+ Be able to work independently as well as part a team.
+ Escalate and formally report faults to specialist engineers (including third party support when required)
Desirable Experience:
+ Good working knowledge of Mac OSX, Autodesk Applications, Network, NAS / SAN and Adobe Creative Suite
+ Technical Experience of Casper/JAMF Pro (ALL Modules)
+ Recognized Microsoft/Linux certifications would be a distinct advantage.
+ Familiarity with IT-related Sarbanes Oxley regulations and ITIL practices for service management.
+ Knowledge of Telecommunications and Data Center connectivity and technology.
+ Prior experience in the Media or Advertising industry would be an advantage.
