As Senior Buying Manager, you will be responsible in overseeing the buying operations and trading commitment for clients within the L’Atelier portfolio. With seasoned skills in buying and administrative operations, you know how to get things done in an efficient and effective manner with a high level of accuracy.

Measures of success

In three months:

  • Understood the business requirement of the client and the luxury landscape
  • Connected with key clients / media owners and planning teams to understand your buying KPIs
  • Familiarise yourself with the reporting and accountability processes for the client. In the absence of existing processes, you would have established the right processes that will facilitate workflow and accountability to clients

In six months:

  • Conducted an operational review to identify areas of opportunity to drive improvements and efficiencies
  • Trained up Executives, Managers and Directors on the basics of offline media buying
In 12 months:
  • Tangibly demonstrate to the clients on the value delivered against KPIs set (i.e. savings and efficiencies derived from your negotiation such as waiver of penalty, etc)

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Monitor, track and ensure accuracy of client spends against master contracts
  • Provide monthly update to Managing Partner on fulfilment tracking
  • Work with planning team to negotiate media buys particularly in the area of Magazines, TV, Newspapers and OOH – provide guidance to less experienced team members where necessary
  • Build positive relationships with clients, media owners and internal planning team
  • Work closely with business lead and Managing Partner to meet trading revenue and improve L’Atelier’s operational performance
  • Assist in m/SIX new business pitches where pricing submission and implementation support is concerned
  • Provide accurate and timely billing and administrative input. Where discrepancies occur, to provide support and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the team to pull together monthly competitive review materials (ADEX, screengrabs, comparison, etc)
  • Be contactable by the team, clients and partners to facilitate the submission of campaign creative and other ad-hoc urgent requests

What you will need:

  • Strong hands-on experience of Singapore media landscape
  • Great existing relationship with key media owners
  • Proficient in media tools such as Clear Decisions, AQX, Radio Advisor, Telmar and AdNet
  • Over 10 years of experience in a media agency role
  • Experience in managing complex group level master contracts
  • Knowledge of media performance measurement metrics across all offline (priority) and digital media
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail and able to service a fast-paced client structure
  • To be proactive and a self-starter in bringing about improvement to the organisation and client portfolio
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office especially in Excel and PowerPoint
  • An out-going and adaptable personality to service the various brands under the luxury portfolio as this is a client-facing role
  • Good command of the English language (written and spoken) and not afraid to present in front of clients and external parties where necessary
  • High emotional intelligence and awareness – therefore able to manage self and others in a constructive manner
  • To be a team-player and invest into imparting offline media / local media knowledge to others within the team and the agency
