Salary: £highly competitive + valuable benefits About the role: Reporting to a Project Manager the successful applicant will be joining and experienced and enthusiastic team of staff delivering ground investigation and geotechnical services to our wide ranging client base across the UK with the potential to work on international projects. The role will be both site based (supervising drillers, logging samples, liaising with clients) and working within an office environment (collating and checking field data, writing small factual reports), so an understanding of all site investigation techniques is essential. You will: The Candidate will need to be able to actively participate in the following key activities: Confident and knowledgeable of various site investigation techniques Prepare health and safety documentation prior to and during the site works phase as well as actively managing the health and safety of operatives works and promoting a safe and healthy environment. Plan and set up various sized site investigations for the field works phase Act as Site Agent or a support role, supervising multiple activities and staff for short and long term projects Meet deadlines and actively manage the workload according to staff and resources in order to meet key targets Effectively programme site investigation activities and monitor progress against time and costs Liaise with clients/acting engineers/main contractors throughout the site works period Log cable tool/rotary boreholes/window sampling boreholes,and trial pits in accordance with the specification and BS5930:1999+A2:2010. Oversee QA procedures and ensure accuracy whilst promoting high quality and consistency Have an awareness or preferably a working knowledge of basic in situ testing, monitoring and the soil sampling processes. Compile monthly invoices which contain a breakdown of the works undertaken Be able to write factual reports and compile the data. Carryout work in accordance with company Health & Safety rules. About you: Relevant industry knowledge, including GI specifications, procedures, techniques, standards and codes of practice Qualified to degree level in Geology/Engineering Geology/Civil Engineering The position is site and office based and requires operative, public and client liaison. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Full and clean Driving Licence CSCS card Knowledge of various GI techniques
