Job Summary
Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Student Affairs Office is searching for a Student Activities Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by deliveringfirst-rate services through a broad-based generalist model. The role is founded in advancing a broad based vision for student development through the cultivation of meaningful one-to-one mentoring relationships. This will entail ensuring that the network of support that each student receives is cohesive, personal and consistent with the philosophy of the student affairs mission.
Core responsibilities will include:
* Build relationships with students through advisement and support of student clubs/organizations and student government.
* Provide student club leader and club advisor training and support.
* Manage the student activity fee including student club expenses and petty cash.
* Coordinate intramural sports and provide logistical support to ‘Tartans’ and sports teams.
* Develop a robust community life through management and logistical support of social events and student activities.
* Serve as Housing & Residence Life Liaison in accordance with the delivery of the metacurricular experience for residential students.
* Engage with and coordinate social media platforms to encourage students to participate in university life.
* Other duties/projects as assigned.
* Ability to work evening/weekend hours based on student’s needs is required.

* Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree Required.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement social activities and programs for students.
* Ability to give presentations to large groups of people.
* Basic familiarity with statistical software (i.e. Excel).
* 3+ Experience in student activities/residence life is highly preferred.
* Basic knowledge of HTML and WordPress, and social media is highly preferred.
* Experience with database management (SQL) is desirable.
